The Leader Pack was originally designed to be a diaper bag, but it's much more versatile than that. The goal of the overal style was "not too tactical", i.e., not covered in PALS webbing. It was also designed in a way that allows for great two-color possibilities, which can really make it look more "civilian" and less tactical. There's a small PALS field on the front of the bag, but you can opt to forgo that if you choose. The front of the bag also features two zippered pockets (one isn't pictured), loop tape, and a shock cord ladder that's great for stashing a jacket, blanket, etc. The bottom of the bag has two adjustable straps (great for a sleeping pad, tripod, etc.) and a small PALS field. On each side of the bag is a hideaway bottle pocket. When not in use, they zip shut so as not to get in the way, and look good. When unzipped, they are large enough to hold Nalgene® or 40 oz. Klean Kanteen® bottles. The outer layer of the bottle pocket is insulated to help keep your beverage at it's optimal temperature. Some baby bottles can be completely zipped up inside the pocket. One of the most innovative parts of this bag is the back panel. It unzips, and folds down to reveal a removable changing mat. If you don't have diapers to change, this mat could be used as a clean/dry place to sit when out and about, or have some luchch, or clean a firearm, etc. Or, you could replace the mat with a slim Velcro-compatible pouch, like a map case. Inside the pack are two zippered pockets, and two open top pockets. The back wall of the pouch is covered in loop tape so it can be customized with a variety of hook-backed pouches and accessories, like the Pocket Panel.
